19 weeks...

So it's now 19 weeks and I'm starting to feel the baby moving around more.  At first I thought it was just a little gas bubble or something, but it's much more consistent.  I'm so excited!  I can't wait until it is stronger and Chris can feel it too!

Other than that, I'm doing well.  Pretty sore from all the growing and stretching, but that's only going to continue.  My plan is ice at night and tylenol at work.  :-D  Seems to be working so far.

Still trying to figure out names.  We've narrowed it down quite a bit, but it will be easier when Oct. 11th comes and we can choose from either the boy's name list or the girl's name list.

I also updated the blog to go with the changing seasons.  It's the first day of fall!!!

18 weeks!

Had another doctor's appointment; just a check up though.  The nurse practitioner said that the baby's growth was right on schedule and the heartbeat was nice and loud.  The only heartbeat number that she said was 140 but  she was still in the process of finding it so I don't know how accurate that is.  She tried to get the baby to move so that we could feel, but the little one wouldn't cooperate.  Go figure!   October 11th is the sono to find out whether it's a boy or girl!  Can't wait!

Out and About

image from TheBump.com

So Chris and I decided to go out and about the other night and start registering for things for our little one.  Oh my goodness!  There are so many different kinds of bottles, pacifiers, spoons, bathtubs...how does anyone find the right one.  We registered for some of those things and some clothes that were more unisex, but we are waiting, until our next sono and we find out boy or girl, to register for more.  I will say that it is fun to walk around and see all the different things.  They are all so cute and I can't wait!

So it's week 17 for me and the little one.  Still haven't really felt anything yet.  I thought I did the night we were out, but I'm not sure.  I haven't felt anything since.    That will be amazing to be able to feel the baby move.

We're slowly getting the house together for the baby.  Finishing up little things upstairs before starting on bigger projects like the floors and the nursery.  I hope everything will look nice when we're all done.

Well, that's all for tonight.  It's been a long day and this mommy-to-be is TIRED!  Off to bed for me!  Take care!

16 Weeks!

So, here are the new bump pictures.  4 months along and I'm so anxious to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl!  Narrowing down names will be much easier.  About 4 more weeks!
Pardon the water spot on my shirt...I had just finished washing dishes...

Whoa...

So this week was the first week back to work with the students and my Tuesday wasn't a good one.  I was outside helping to monitor kids for an extra morning recess and I was standing in the sun.  I started to feel really hot and sweaty, which then progressed to feeling dizzy too.  I told the teacher, that I'm working with, that I needed to go in, have a break, or just sit down.  So I went to go sit in the shade by the door.  When I felt a little better I decided to go into the air-conditioned lounge to see if that helped.  I made my way down the hall and into the lounge.  After having done that, I began to feel very sick to my stomach and proceeded to the bathroom.  The rest is a little fuzzy.  I don't remember falling but I aparently passed out in the doorway to the restroom.  I remember hitting my head on the floor and then I stayed on the floor for a minute to collect myself and then decided to get up slowly and assess the damage.  I immediately noticed a big red mark on my forehead so I dabbed my face with a wet paper towel and slowly went back to the lounge to sit for a few minutes.  I drank plenty of water until I felt well enough to go to the secretary's office to inform her.  So...to make this long story a little shorter, I ended up probably being the first accident report of the year, plus my husband had to come get me and take me to the ER to get checked out.  No damage other than bruises on the forehead and nose in addition to the nice goose egg I developed on my head.  The baby was just fine; 168bpm with the doppler.  I'm still a little sore, but am taking extra precautions to have several little snacks during the morning and afternoon in addition to my main meals.  So far so good... :-D

Latest Dr. Appointment

Image from TheBump.com

Had a doctor's appointment today.  I'm about at the beginning of my second trimester now; about 14 weeks.  I've only gained about 3 pounds so far, but hopefully I'll gain more soon.  We actually got to hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler this time.  161bpm!  The doctor said it was doing just fine.  I'm doing a little better, not too much nausea, but I have been getting headaches lately.  Maybe due to allergies and such so we asked the doctor what I could take for it.  We're both happy everything is going well and baby is doing just fine!  About two more doctor's appointments before they do another sono to find out boy or girl!  I'm so excited!!  Next appointment in September.

hmmmm...

I feel bad...my wonderful husband took the time to make a really nice dinner last night and it looked good.  But when I went to eat it...I couldn't.  It didn't taste right to me, but he said it tasted fine.  This is frustrating.  I don't know if this is normal for being pregnant.  This is also not the first time that it's happened.  It this normal??  : (
