bows...

It's bow making here at the Ritscher household while Chris has to work late.  Pray for him...work is rough right now and running him ragged.  He has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and I know he's stressed.

My first attempt at rosettes...

More yo-yo's...

Another first for this type of bow...

Solid Foods!!!

Gwennie ate her stage 3 food...and some puffs cereal today.  She had originally gagged and spit up.  I think the texture wasn't something she liked...but we made progress today!  It was so cute!
Also...Chris and I along with Mary (Chris's Mom) went to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert last night!  It was great...as usual!  Loved it!  Gwennie had her first sleepover at my parents house and was a very good girl.  I missed her, but got to sleep in until 7.  :-D

Stuff...

Busy, busy, busy now that work is going again after Thanksgiving break...I finished my yo-yo flowers off with some buttons...haven't had time to make any new ones yet...here's some pictures from last weekend and brunch with Gwennie's grandma and grandpa.  She was playing with Grandpa for a bit.  Then there's one of her winter hat that was a gift from a coworker of mine. I was so excited for her to be able to wear it!  :-D

She was very serious in all of these...but she was giggling and smiling when I put the camera away...

flowers and bows...

Good Morning!  Gwennie is still acting like herself...but still sounding congested and coughing a lot.  Not fully sleeping through the night yet either.  While she napped/played with Daddy I was making some bows and flowers yesterday...here they are...
These are called Yo-yo's...I think I will put some buttons in the middle or something...

One for Christmas and one for fall

The rest...one is from Halloween.  I hadn't glued it together yet.

I think my next flower I will try is a rosette...we'll see how that goes.  I'm also knitting a hat for her...that's taking awhile.  I had to relearn how to knit. :-D

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ok...after a bit of a fussy first thanksgiving...we are posting the 9 month pictures and a thanksgiving one too!  Gwennie woke up with a cold yesterday...runny nose and cough.  Poor girl.  We tried some table food...but she would just gag and not eat it.  I think the texture is not something she likes/is ready  for yet.  Maybe she will be ready by Christmas.  She's feeling better today and more like herself!  I'm also posting a picture of the hair clip I made to match her turkey shirt!  Enjoy!

Update...way past due...

Sorry that I've been MIA on this blog.  Busy busy busy these days.  Gwennie is growing like a weed.  She's 9 months today...pictures will be posted later today.  At her doctor's appointment she weighed 16.1lbs and was 27in long.  She's petite, but the doctor says that she's making good gains for her percentile.  She is also ahead in communication and fine motor skills.  She needs to work on her gross motor...standing.  She likes to stand on her tip-toes.  We need to work with her on standing flat-footed.  She is not crawling yet, but she is rolling and scooting all over the place.  She says "Dada" and tries to say Bella, but it sounds a lot like "Dada."  No "Mama" yet.  Here are some little projects that I've been working on to get ready for Gwennie's First Turkey Day! (Doctor also said that Gwennie can have table food too!  So excited!  Turkey and mashed potatoes for her!!!)  There will also be pictures later of the new bows that I will make for her today too...keeping busy...I seem to have a creative streak at the moment.  Not a usual thing for me.  :-D
Turkey Cookies Gwennie and I made for tomorrow!

My first try at a turkey shirt for Gwennie!
